As usual those blasting and gusty north east winds greeted us again and they made it hard work for all casters, and they didn't abate later on. Still that didn't stop Nick Allsworth putting down good casts to take out top dog in the 112 gram and artificial bait events.

Mal Head produced a flash of brilliance to win the single handed event which gave Roy and me a chance to keep each other honest, but the best man won. I must mention that Alphonse put down a couple of good casts in the distance events.

Young Emily Woodford quietly went about her casting and was successful in toppling young Rhys for the first time.

If there ever was a bloke who can't take a break (or many snap offs) it's Willo. Not one distance cast stayed connected no matter who tied the knot - the line must be faulty.

Next month, March, there's the final of the 112 gram open event, so hang around and see if you can obtain some personal bests.

Keep it straight and long.
